Privacy Policy - Mova Podcasts

Effective date: 2026-06-26

This Privacy Policy explains how Mova Podcasts (the "Service") handles information when you discover, play, and save language-learning podcasts.

1. What The Service Does

Mova Podcasts helps you discover language-learning podcasts, play externally hosted episodes, save items to a local library, and retain listening progress on your device.

2. Current Release Scope

The current consumer release is local-first. It does not offer a real user account or cloud synchronization. Profile preferences, saved episodes, queue state, and playback progress remain on your device unless a future release clearly introduces an account or synchronization feature and this policy is updated.

3. Information The Service Handles

  • Local profile preferences: Your selected language, learning level, goals, onboarding state, and related app preferences.
  • Local listening data: Saved episodes, queue state, playback position, completion state, and listening history stored on your device.
  • Podcast requests: When you request externally hosted podcast metadata, artwork, or audio, your device connects to the applicable publisher, feed host, or media delivery provider. Those services may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address, device request headers, and request time.
  • Support information: If you contact us or use the support form, we process the name, email address, subject, message, and technical context you choose to provide.
  • Store diagnostics:Apple may provide TestFlight or App Store crash and diagnostic information according to your Apple settings and Apple's policies. The current release does not enable a separate Mova analytics or crash-reporting endpoint.

Mova Podcasts does not request microphone access and does not record audio.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide podcast discovery, playback, saved-library, and progress features.
  • Remember your local preferences and listening state.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and content-rights inquiries.
  • Diagnose reliability or security problems when you report them.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect users and the Service.

5. How Information Is Shared

Information may be shared with:

  • Podcast publishers and media hosts: Your device contacts their servers when retrieving externally hosted content.
  • Support providers: Hosting and email providers may process information you submit through the support page.
  • Compliance and safety recipients: When disclosure is required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

6. Third-Party Podcast Content

Podcast descriptions, artwork, feeds, and audio are supplied and hosted by third parties. Their services and privacy practices are governed by their own terms and policies. Mova Podcasts does not control how those providers process network requests made to retrieve their content.

7. Data Retention And Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you change or remove it, clear it through available app or device controls, or uninstall the app, subject to operating-system backup behavior. Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain security and business records, and meet legal obligations.

8. Your Choices And Rights

  • You can edit profile preferences and saved-library choices in the app.
  • You can stop playback requests by not playing externally hosted content.
  • You can remove local app data using available app or device controls.
  • You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable law provides those rights.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure.

10. International Data Transfers

Support providers and third-party podcast hosts may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards to information under our control.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

12. Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. Material updates will be posted with a revised effective date. We will update this policy before enabling accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or other materially different data processing.
