How a line can have an order even when it does not look like one
What to notice
Some queues are visually clear: people stand in a line, take a numbered ticket, or follow an electronic display. In other settings—especially a small clinic, service counter, or crowded market stall—the order may be remembered socially rather than shown by where everyone stands.
A newcomer can ask Перепрошую, хто останній? The person at the end may answer Я. The newcomer then says Добре, я за вами—“Okay, I am after you.”
After that exchange, people may sit down or move slightly while keeping their place. Pay attention when the person ahead of you is called, and do not assume that someone standing closer to the counter arrived first.
This is a practical possibility, not a national rule. If there is a ticket machine, posted number, or clearly formed line, follow that system instead.
